Cabinet OKs changesto startup, IT policies
The state cabinet on Wednesday granted approval to amend theGoa Startup Policy 2022 and IT Policy 2018to reinstate the Seed Capital Scheme.
The amendment also provides for creating a Startup IT Promotion Cell (SITPC) to cater to the Startup Policy 2021 and IT Policy 2018.
The promotion cell will be the nodal agency to register, recognise, certify the startups. The IT secretary will be its convener, while the director (IT) and CEO (SITPC) will certify the ventures.
The cell will have to report to the empowered committee (EC). The committee will oversee policy implementation and grant approvals for the disbursement of incentives. Applications received under this policy and the IT Policy 2018 will be processed by the cell.
The approval was granted to make necessary amendments to the IT Policy 2018 for reconstitution of the empowered committee and to broaden its purview to oversee the implementation of the Startup Policy 2021.
The cabinet also granted ex post facto approval to extend the nine schemes that were defined under the Startup Policy 2017 to the Startup Policy 2021 with enhanced benefits.

Punjab, Haryana in list of 7 top states that make life easier for business
Seven states, includingAndhra Pradesh, Gujarat,Haryana,Karnataka, Punjab, Naduand Telangana, have emerged as top achievers among states and union territories in theBusiness Reforms Action Plan(BRAP) assessment, covering 15 areas and 301 reform action points.
Based on their performance, states and UTs have also been categorised as achievers, aspirers and emerging business Ecosystems, unlike the past, when they were ranked.
They are now being pushed to decriminalise provisions in their laws so that minor offences do not result in harsh penalties. The move comes as a similar exercise is under way at the Centre with several laws, such as the Companies Act, already seeing changes. We have requested states to look very closely at decriminalisation…Make it a civil penalty or compoundable for minor violations, saidAnurag Jain, secretary in the department for promotion of Industry and internal trade, which undertakes the exercise.
Ramagundam: Indias largest floating Solar Power Project
Indias largest floating solar power plant was made fully operational by NTPC at Ramagundam, .
The capacity of solar plant is 100 MW.
It is powered with advanced technology and Environment friendly features.
The project spreads over 500 acres of its reservoir.
The project is divided into 49 blocks. Each block has capacity of 2.5MW and each block comprise of one floating platform and a matrix of 11,200 solar modules.
The solar modules are kept on floaters which are manufactured with HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) material.
DRDO: Autonomous Flying Wing Technology Demonstrator
It was maiden flight of the Autonomous Flying Wing Technology Demonstrator.
The aircraft operated in a fully autonomous mode and also performed a perfect flight, including its take-off, way point as well as a smooth touchdown.
It has been termed a significant step towards our self-reliance in strategic DEFENCE technologies and critical military system.
The Autonomous Flying Wing Technology Demonstrator has been designed and developed by Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) of DRDO.

PM Narendra Modi participates Udyami Bharat, launches schemes for MSME sector
Prime MinisterNarendra Modiparticipated in the Udyami Bharat programme and launched key initiatives like Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance(RAMP) scheme,Capacity Building of First-Time MSME Exporters(CBFTE) scheme and new features of the Prime Ministers EMPLOYMENT Generation Programme (PMEGP) to ramp up the MSME sector.
Modi also digitally transferred assistance to beneficiaries of PMEGP for 2022-23; announced results of the MSME Idea Hackathon, 2022; distributed National MSME Awards, 2022; and issued Digital Certificates to 75 MSMEs in the Self Reliant India (SRI) Fund.
RAMP scheme with an outlay of around Rs 6000 crore, aims to scale up the implementation capacity and coverage of MSMEs in the states, with impact enhancement of existing MSME schemes.
