  • E-challan system gets Goa government nod

  • The e-chalan system received a green signal from the state government to start implementing the process.

  • Violators caught flouting driving rules will thus be billed using an electronic-challan machine, a hand-held device that can generate a challan cum receipt for any violation against Motor Vehicle Act. The system will also be integrated with the traffic sentinel scheme. As a result, the violators can pay their fine to the nearest traffic police on duty thus eliminating the need to go to the regional transport office (RTO) of one’s respective jurisdiction.
