Will coordinate with Kerala, Mizoram to develop tourism in state: Goa governor

Goa governor P S Sreedharan Pillai said he would push for development of tourism in the state and would coordinate with Kerala and Mizoram to give a boost to the industry.

“Goa, Kerala and Mizoram, from where I am coming, all three states are topmost in the field of tourism and I can coordinate between them. I have already spoken to Kerala chief minister (Pinarayi Vijayan) about it and Mizoram has a good opinion about me. We will be able to do a lot of developments in Goa,” Pillai, who was sworn in as the governor on Thursday, said.

Goa got a full-time governor after nearly a year since Satya Pal Malik was transferred to Meghalaya. Pillai was the Mizoram governor before his transfer to Goa.

“Goa is among the finest states in India and a fast-growing one. There is communal harmony in the state and culturally, too, Goa is in the forefront in south India. I will sincerely work for the development of the state,” he said.

BHIMUPI Launched in Bhutan

 

In Bhutan, BHIM–UPI was launched. On the occasion, India’s Finance Minister stated that the services have begun in Bhutan as part of India’s “neighbourhood first” policy.

Highlights:

♦ BHIM UPI is one of the highlights of digital transactions in India during the COVID-19 pandemic and is also an achievement, having created more than 100 million UPI QRs in the past 5 years.

♦ BHIM UPI processed 22 billion transactions worth Rs 41 lakh crore in 2020-21.

♦ Bhutan is the first country to adopt UPI standards for QR deployment with this launch.

♦ RuPay cards are also accepted in Bhutan, where they will be officially launched during Prime Minister Modi’s visit in 2019.

♦ Therefore, Bhutan is also the only country that simultaneously issues and accepts RuPay cards and accepts BHIM-UPI.

Matsya Setu App – Ministry of Fishery, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Ministry

 

The Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairy Ministry have launched the Matsya Setu Mobile App.

About the Matsya Setu App:

This is an online course mobile application developed by ICAR-Central Freshwater Aquaculture Research Institute (ICAR-CIFA) in Bhubaneswar with funding from the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB) in Hyderabad.

 

The app’s goal is to disseminate the most recent freshwater aquaculture technologies to the country’s aqua farmers.

The Matsya Setu application has a species/subject wise self-study online course module, in which famous aquaculture experts explain the fundamental concepts of breeding, seed production, and grow-out culture of commercially important fishes such as carp, catfish, scampi, murrel, ornamental fish, pearl farming, and so on. important commercial fish (such as carp, catfish, marine fish, mole, ornamental fish, pearl farming, etc.

The course platform also includes Better Management Practices for maintaining soil and water quality, feeding, and health management in aquaculture operations.

For the convenience of the learners, the modules are divided into small video chapters, along with additional learning materials.

 

 

Establishment of Ministry of Co-operation

 

The government established a separate “Co-operation Ministry” to realize the vision of “Sahkar se Samriddhi.”

 

This ministry will establish a separate administrative, legal, and policy framework to strengthen the country’s cooperative movement.

 

The Ministry will work to streamline processes for co-operatives to make it easier to do business and to facilitate the development of Multi-State Co-operatives (MSCS).

Tele-Law programme reached the 9 lakh beneficiaries.

About Tele-Law Programme:

To address cases at the pre-litigation stage, the Ministry of Law and Justice launched the Tele-Law programme in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) in 2017.

It is a service that connects lawyers with litigants in need of legal advice via video conferencing and telephone services. This service seeks to assist those in need, particularly the marginalised and disadvantaged.

Under this program, the video conferencing smart technology and telephone/instant call facilities provided in the vast network of Panchayat-level common service centers are used to connect poor, oppressed, disadvantaged, and untouched groups and communities with group lawyers to seek timely and Valuable legal advice
