The Goa State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (GSCPCR) has recommended that the create positions for counsellors in all schools to address the huge mental Health gap that has emerged since the Covid-19 pandemic.

The commission has called for universal coverage of the states counselling scheme. Currently, just 85 counsellors cover 295 schools in the scheme implemented by the Goa Educational Development Corporation (GEDC).

Commission chairpersonPeter Borgessaid that since children spend most of their time in school, their problems can be identified, dealt with, and improved through counselling. School students, he said, are of an age that is generally vulnerable, and need a safe space a neutral and non-judgmental counsellor who understands their feelings and helps them navigate their emotions.

He also flagged the issue of undetected pregnancies in adolescents in school settings. These are ultimately found out about in advanced stages, and are a result of both abuse and romantic relationships, he said.

IIT Indore, in PARTNERSHIP with NASA-Caltech and the University of Gothenburg in Sweden, has designed an inexpensive camera setup that can capture multispectral images of four chemical species in a flame using a single DSLR camera. Previously, capturing such images required a complicated system with four cameras, but this new setup can simultaneously capture multiple spectral three-dimensional images of four chemical species in a flame using only one DSLR camera.

During the Commonwealth Finance Ministers High-Level Working Group Meeting held in Washington D.C., finance ministers from several Commonwealth nations have urged for a comprehensive overhaul of the global financial architecture to improve the availability of development financing for countries that are vulnerable

HDFC Bank, the leading private sector bank in India, has signed a Master Inter Bank Credit Agreement with the Export-Import Bank of Korea, with a total value of US $300 million. The signing ceremony took place in GIFT City, Gujarat, and aims to help HDFC Bank raise foreign currency funds, which will be used to support Korea-related businesses

The credit line will be utilized by HDFC Bank for the funding requirements of companies with participation by Korean firms, companies having business relationships with Korean companies, and consumers who wish to purchase cars manufactured by Korea-related companies
