All green clearances for industries will soon be in one place: Union minister Bhupender Yadav

Industries will soon be able to secure all green clearances in one place with the Parivesh portal being refined, said Union Environment minister Bhupender Yadav on Saturday. He was speaking at the 1st International Environment and Sustainability Summit Goa, 2023.

He said 11 lakh crore tonnes of E-Waste is being generated in India and the figure will rise by 20% next year.

Goa is actively working to set up a waste-to-energy plant and it has also started the process of

creating a <a href="https://exam.pscnotes.com/green-Climate-fund”>Green Climate Fund.

The states environment minister Nilesh Cabral said that only 5% of waste in Goa is going into landfills and

the aim is to bring this Percentage down. He requested the Union minister to finalise at the earliest a policy to make manufacturers take responsibility for the waste generated from their products such as PET bottles, tetra packs and packaging.

NCERT Launched Indias First National Assessment Regulator PARAKH

The National Council for Education Research and Training (NCERT) has released Indias first national assessment regulator, PARAKH, which will work on setting norms, standards, and guidelines for student assessment and evaluation for all recognized school boards in the country.

The PARAKH regulator aims to set up assessment guidelines for all boards to help remove disparities in the scores of students enrolled with different state boards. PARAKH stands for The Performance Assessment, Review, and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development. It is established within the education survey division of the NCERT.

PARAKH has been launched as a part of the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

It has envisaged a standard-setting body to advise school boards regarding the new assessment patterns and the latest

research and promote collaboration between them.

PARAKH will work in three major assessment areas including large-scale assessments, school-based assessments, and examination reforms.
