  • Goa will host National Games at the earliest, says CEO

  • The 36th edition of the National Games will be held in Goa, sooner rather than later.
First allotted in 2008 and scheduled to be held three years later, the National Games has seen umpteen delays with the latest ‘request’ for a postponement finally earning the wrath of the Indian Olympic Association.

  • Despite what the state government tells everyone, Goa still needs to have plenty of infrastructure in place for the National Games. Last month, a report prepared by the IOA said some projects have managed only 40 percent completion. The indoor stadium at Campal, the multipurpose stadium at Sawalwada in Pernem and indoor stadium at Ponda are three venues that are found to be lagging behind.
